Fill the mind with thoughts of biblical passages or Christian devotion;
Meditation is an exercise in Praise
What is in our thought closet is what we wardrobe our life with.
Thesauros: Greek word for storeroom; Our word thesaurus is derived from this word which is a storeroom (collection) of words.
Thesauros also referred to the magi’s chest of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Their chest existed to have something to give to Jesus. Our words spoken to our souls need to be fitting treasure to offer to our King. HE deserves our finest thoughts, best words, and a “thought closet” full of truth.
…For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
Satan wants to stifle us with lies and ill-fitting words so our thoughts are a jumbled mess that controls us. The more JUNK he can put in, the less room we have for TRUTH.
Our thoughts: nouns/adjectives (p. 12) Who I am and what I struggle with are not the same thing.
Damaging without God’s control (p. 15) Our closets can be dark w/o Christ illuminating our minds.
God’s thoughts are not like our thoughts. God’s closet is full of light because He is light.
God is familiar with your thought closet. He knows what’s there. He can transform our thoughts to be more like His.
p. 18 It's possible to gain control over our thoughts!
God’s spirit grants us control. Our makeover starts with our awareness and commitment.
When someone asks us “What’s up”? We are going to say, “I’m committing my way to God and relying on His Words, not mine!”
Commit our way to God; Rely on His powerful WORD.Commit: One word, one thought at a time…Rely: on God’s word more than our words.
