In the 18 th century, Asturias became one of the centers of Spanish Enlightenment.
Industrial revolution arrived to Asturias after the 1830 with the exploitation of coal and iron resources. During the same period there was a lot of migration to the Americas (Argentina, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Mexico.)
Played a big role in the colonization of the Americas.
Aguascalientes used to be part of the state of Zacatecas until 1835 when it became its own state. When separated from Zacatecas, Aguascalientes sprung ahead in its development, leaving Zacatecas behind.
The City was founded by Juan de Montoro on the 22 nd of October, 1575.
Was founded as a postal service rest stop between the city of Zacatecas and Mexico City.
