Hitler joins the army <ul><li>During world war 1, Hitler joined the army. </li></ul><ul><li>He was a messenger in that war. </li></ul><ul><li>Later became a corporal. </li></ul><ul><li>Earned medals for his bravery. </li></ul>German loses ! German defeat horrified him. Versailles treaty made him furious. In 1919,he joined German workers party. He took over the organization and renamed it as ‘ National Socialist German Workers Party’ This was known as ’Nazi party’.

Hitler rises <ul><li>On 30 January 1933,President Hindenburg offered the chancellorship, the highest position in the cabinet to Adolf Hitler. </li></ul><ul><li>Nazis had already set a very good opinion about Hitler in the minds of people. </li></ul><ul><li>Having acquired power, Hitler setout to destroy the democratic form of government in Germany. </li></ul><ul><li>He set out to destroy communists. </li></ul><ul><li>On 3 march 1933,the famous Enabling act was passed. </li></ul><ul><li>This act established dictatorship in Germany. </li></ul>

After conquering northern, western, southern Europe, Hitler set out to capture eastern Germany. He wanted to ensure food supplies and living space for Germans.
