  3. 3. The NFL draft selection order is based on the previous years’ win/loss record standing. The worst team gets the first draft pick and the best team receives the last draft pick of each round. The draft takes places over a two day period with seven rounds and 32 picks per round. The final draft pick in the NFL draft every year is humorously named Mr. Irrelevant.
