About the host
My name is Sebastian Keil and I am
the host of the Speaking English
Podcast. I am 34 years old, have
studied American Literature,
Language and Culture, and have been
blogging since 2004/5. My day-time
job is consulting with an advertising
agency.

About the show
The Speaking English Podcast is an almost
weekly video podcast. Usually, I explain the
difference between a pair of words that non-
native speakers might easily confuse or the
correct pronunciation of each of the words.

About the distribution
The Speaking English Podcast is distributed
over the major video portals YouTube,
Revver, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Blip,
HowCast, MySpace and some others. Since
January 2008, the show has gathered almost
500,000 views.
Currently, a deal with satellite TV distribution
is being worked out.

About your options
To be honest, the traffic on the website
speakingenglishpodcast.com is not that
heavy. Firstly, the site is not well designed
and neither optimized for displaying nor
evaluating banner ads. Secondly, ca. 10 videos
are always on the front page – since we are
talking flash videos, no clicks are recorded.

But of course, that should not keep you. If
you are interested in booking banner ads,
please look at the stats for the web site
beginning at page 17. Then send me an email
with your offer.

Options: be part of the show
Personally, I think this option makes most
sense. If your product is on the show, you
are part of all the views it gets, no matter on
what portal the video is distributed. In other
words:

And I do not have a problem mentioning
your excellent video camera, reference
book, soft drink, software, socks or whatever
product you want to sell, or even use it on
screen or to produce show.* I will do it my
way: your message – in my words.
*Of course that is not true. All offers are subject to my veto. Naturally, some products may fit better than others to the program.

Options: post-roll ads
Not as powerful as product placement, but
just as many views. If you want to advertise
your product in your own, controlled
surroundings, then post-roll ads are your way
to go.
