  • 2. Congrats! Congratulations on your new puppy!
  • 3. A Puppy makes a wonderful buddy! He is always happy to see you andrelies on you to take very good care of him.
  • 4. Tip #1 – Set up a feeding and berthing space for your new puppy.Housing your new puppy in a kennel at night is a good idea so she won’t potty in the house while you are asleep.
  • 5. Tip #2 – Get some puppy pads to start yourpuppy potty training and get her use to theoutdoor grass. Some puppies may find thegrass strange.
  • 6. It’s good to expose your dog to manydifferent environments such as thepark, walking along the street, thewater, people, different sounds anddifferent toy materials.
  • 7. WARNING!Do not force your puppy!Let the puppy explore new situations on their own.
  • 8. Tip #3 – Start walking your puppy in a harness with a good manageable leash. A harness helps you manage your puppy while walking. And, a harness is more humane than a choke chain!
  • 9. Tip #4 – Getplenty of puppytreats & toys!
  • 10. Did you know that dogs need vegetables too?Dogs need the vitamins and can eat: • Carrots • Beets • Cucumbers • Spinach • Lettuce • Bananas • Pears • Mangos • Peaches • Strawberries
  • 11. Onions Garlic Grapes/Raisons Salt & Heavy Spices Mushrooms Chocolate Raw Fish OrangesOther fruits high in citrus
  • 12. It’s a good ideato get manydifferent typesof toys madewith differentmaterials:• rubber• wood• cloth• paper• and yes, evenmetal!
  • 13. Tip #5 – Use gentle puppy shampoo for sensitive skin. 1 out of 7 dogs have allergies, their skin can beeasily irritated by the perfumes in heavy shampoos.
  • 14. Tip #6 - PLAY – RUN – PLAY!! ***EVERYDAY***
  • 15. Tip #7 – Get to knowyour local veterinarian.The more your newpuppy knows him orher the easier thevisits will be!
  • 16. Please don’t give up. Puppies have a way of testing ourpatience. This is a valuable lesson for us humans to learn!
