Mediterranean Agency for Remote Sensing and Environmental Control MARSec EPOD Program EPOD Program: “details” MARSec is a Ground Station of Israeli Satellite EROS-A1 and EROS-B and it is certified by ImageSat Intl as Exclusive Pass On Demand (EPOD) Station since 2009. The EPOD Program enables our Ground Station:  to task the EROS-B satellite and to receive directly all the acquired imagery on 60 selected passes per year, into our footprint, as set forth in the commercial agreement (Orbit Reserved service);  to acquire images in the entire world with different delivery options (Standard and Rush Tasking Services). • 37. Mediterranean Agency for Remote Sensing and Environmental Control MARSec EPOD Program Ground Segment: “Mission Planning System” The Mission Planning System (MPS) enables MARSec to plan the targets that will be acquired on selected orbit. Steps: 1. select the suitable orbits on our footprint (we can generate 3 weeks of orbits) 2. submit the request to Imagesat 3. plan the targets (mission planning) 4. send the OS file to GCS (The command file generated by MPS shall be sent via ftp to ImageSat GCS for EROS-B satellite uplink) Last call: 36 h before morning uplink – standard 05:00 UTC day of imaging - emergency With S-band TX antenna system : last call for up-link 20 minutes before AOS
  • 38. Mediterranean Agency for Remote Sensing and Environmental Control MARSec EPOD Program Ground Segment: “Mission Planning System” Orbital prediction: this module allows to predict the next 3 weeks of satellite revolutions. That is to say, 21 days of orbits…. Strategy: this module is the most important part of MPS, in fact it allows to plan the “imaging mission” and to choose the acquisition parameters. We can select: 1. The type of target: basic, vector, stereo pair, triplet 2. The imaging parameter: • Scan azimuth • Start and End imaging angle (mean point angle) • Lighting condition (TDI) … as a camera photo …
