In her presentation, Fides will provide an introduction to Open Access (OA), covering some of the major OA initiatives worldwide and some of the key imperatives that underpin them. She will discuss the benefits to researchers, their parent institutions and to society in general in opening up research and scholarly outputs to the world, and will demonstrate the value of this win-win strategy. She will give examples from her experiences with developing digital repositories and promoting e-publishing, highlighting key implementation issues and policy considerations.
