Diagnostics (crawl errors, html errors, malware) There are two types of crawl errors: Server Errors and Not found Errors(404). Server Errors: This indicates pages containing 500 errors. This error normally occurs when pages are blocked for google bot. Not Found Errors: This indicates there are links to a page that does not exist. A good solution is often to create a 301-redirect, pointing the missing page at something appropriate.

If pages crawled ratio is decreasing and time spent downloading a page is increasing than you need to check the site for performance issues.
