Project Background TRG• ABA footwear & leather products cluster serves as a substantial contributor to the National Economy & ECOWAS markets.• The leather products cant compete at international level for lack of Uniform Quality Standards.• Nigeria haven’t taken up it’s quota in the AGOA market in USA for lack of Uniform Quality Standards. 2
  • 3. Project Design TRGThe entire project design is aimed at;• Enhancing the Manufacturers Capabilities.• Using already existing CFC.• Introducing NEW CFC where necessary.• Becoming a major player in leather production in both local military and the AGOA. 3

  • 5. Project Goal TRGBuilding Capacities of the Entrepreneurs for;• The production of Value Added and Competitive Products.• Production of consistent High Quality.• Local Military and AGOA market penetration.• Upgrading the CFC with modern tools & equipments. 5

Project Objectives TRG• Provide Training : for SME, entrepreneurs at Aba CFC.• Upgrade the CFC: Inject modern tools, equipment and technology into existing and new CFC (take the India example).• Choice of Raw materials: work with entrepreneurs at the input level until the output level.• Standardization: to meet export requirements.• Establish more Clusters: to encourage establishment of more clusters. 6

Our Business Approach TRG• Drive quality and standards to meet up with international market and AGOA criteria.• Three phase project implementation plan – Pre-Production phase (all needs analysis, stakeholder identification, training etc) – Production Phase (actual provision of raw materials and production of the leather products) – Post Production phase ( marketing and supply of the products). 9

  • 11. FUNDING REQUIREMENT TRG• Cost Implication: It refers to an efficient system of generation, distribution and utilization of resources.• Budget: This is yet to be determined until after the preliminary research and findings have been carried out. 11
