  • 2. How did you define the word 'hacking' ? According to our studies: Hacking is an unauthorised access to the computer system done by a hacker
  • 3. But, what/who is 'hacker' ? According to Wikipedia: stereotypical person who breaks into computers and computer networks, either for profit or motivated by the challenge According to our studies: Hackers are persons who learn about the computer system in detail. They write program referred to as hacks
  • 4. Types of hackers
    • Script-kiddie (amateur hacker)
    • Black-hat hacker
    • White hat hacker
    • Grey hat = white+black hat hacker
    • etc.
  • 5. Case studies of hackers
    • Tim Berners-Lee, founder of WWW, was caught at Oxford University
    • Julian Assange, the Australian who found Wikileaks
    • Script-kiddie nicknamed 'MafiaBoy' who sneak into Ebay's database
  • 6. Events for hackers
    • Yahoo Hack Day
    • Pwn2Own, targeting internet browsers
    • DEF_CON_
    • Hacker on Planet Earth (aka HOPE)
    • Malcon, focusing on malware
  • 7. My personal opinion
    • Hacking is harmful to our country, and to the whole humankind.
    • But, in some cases, hacks = improving something (ie. Bug fixes, etc.)
    • Use your knowledge in computer wisely.
    • The word 'hack' refers to things related software developing processes (oftenly at internet companies such as Yahoo!, Google, etc.)
