Integers and Rational Numbers

  • Multiplying integers: This presentation will provide a review or reference when needed of how to multiply positive and negative numbers. There is also a review of each operation at the end to check your understanding.

  • Play jeopardy with a partner to test your skills using both integers and rational numbers. A review from the lessons on order of operations and coordinate planes are also incorporated.

  • Start with slide 50 to begin reviewing factors and multiples and progress through to work on using fractions and decimals. You will review adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with both fractions and decimals. It will also give a brief description of terminating and repeating decimals.

  • Focus on using the number line to express rational numbers. Work through the problems with your partner.

  • Work through the presentation on adding integers. Review the rules on how to add using both positive and negative numbers and then work the practice problems.

  • Review how to subtract integers and make sure you understand the reasoning behind subtracting with positive and negative numbers. Work through the problems and talk with your partner about how and why your answer is correct.

  • This presentation focuses on dividing integers. After reviewing the slide and working the problems compare and contrast multiplication and division rules with integers.
