  • 3. South India is thebiggest consumer ofbottled waterrepresenting more than50per cent of the totalmarket in India followedby Western India, whichis the home ground ofmajor national brands
  • 4. Consumption of every litre of bottledwater leads to waste plastic bottles
  • 5. Hundreds ofWater bottlesend up asgarbage
  • 6. The per capita consumption of bottled waterin India was at 16.20 litres during 2010-11and jumped by almost 21%to 19.60 litres in2011-12
  • 7. For every 1500 litres of water, a barrel of oil is used to produce thoseplastic bottles.
  • 8. For every 10,400 litres of water, one ton of carbon-di-oxide isproduced for manufacturing the bottles.
