  3. 3. Britain…Britain is full of culture and traditions whichhave been around for hundreds of years. Britishcustoms and traditions are famous all over theworld e.g. drinking tea, eating fish and chips andwearing bowler hats. But there is also sport,music, food and many royal occasions etc.
  4. 4. FoodBritish food has traditionally been based onbeef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish and generallyserved with potatoes and one other vegetable.The most common and typical foods eaten inBritain include the sandwich, fish and chips,pies, trifle and roasts dinners.
  5. 5. PolitenessThe English are reservedin manners, dress andspeech. They are famousfor politeness, self-discipline and humour.They say ‘please, thankyou, excuse me’ andopen doors etc.

Class• The Upper ClassOften people with inherited wealth.Includes some of the oldest families, with many ofthem being titled aristocrats.• The Middle ClassThe majority of the population ofBritain. They include industrialists, professionals,business people and shop owners.• Lower or Working ClassPeople who are agricultural,mine and factory workers.

The elder daughter of KingGeorge VI and Queen Elizabeth, she was born in 1926and became Queen at the age of 25, and has reignedthrough more than five decades. The Queen is marriedto Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and has fourchildren and eight grandchildren.
  8. 8. WeatherEngland has mild temperatures not muchlower than 0ºC in winter and not muchhigher than 32ºC in summer. It often rainsand can change quickly.

The life of a teenagerThey enjoy chatting to and texting friends ontheir mobiles, hanging out with their mates,listening to the latest music, shopping for thelatest fashions or just watching movies on thetelevision or at the cinema. They go to school &have hobbies like swimming, watching TV,cycling and playing on the PS3 etc.
