Hazard Communication• Hazard communication involves the communication of hazards about chemicals to employees.• Hazard communication is also known as the “Right to Know”• It is the responsibility of everyone to handle chemical safely, understand chemical labels and understand the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

  4. 4. MSDSThe information includes: - Chemical name - Emergency and first aid procedure - Safe handling - Health and physical hazards - Date of preparation of MSDS - Control measures - PEL or the Permissible Exposure Limit

  6. 6. LABELINGThe label must have the following: - The chemical name - Hazards of the chemical - Manufacturer’s name and address Unlabeled containers should never be used. You should never remove a label from a container.
