Tips For Presenting - Presentation Transcript

    1. How to be a dead good presenter
      • Phil Winstanley
      • [email_address]
    2. Agenda Slides
      • Oh no, it’s too late!
      • You’re trapped in the audience now.
      • This isn’t what you thought this session would be about.
      • Can you get out without the speaker noticing?
      • Try it, he has a gun.
    3. Stop touching yourself
    4. Reading out your Slides
      • Try not to read out the text on your slides. Something you’ll find is that the audience will generally be able to read the text much more quickly than you can say it out loud.
      • Apparently most audiences find it very irritating and just wish the speaker would shut up.
    5. Prepare Prooperly
    6. Body Language
    7. Choose the right font
      • Don’t use Arial
      • Don’t use Comic Sans MS
      • Don’t use Times New Roman
      • 321 Impact isn’t great either
    8. Make sure your text is not too small Use a nice big font size
    9. Do not say : ERM

      • At least make sure they contrast
      • With the background
    14. The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.
    15. Too Much information
      • The more information you put on a slide the more the audience will try and read it to catch up, it’s likely they’ll get lost and bored with the content and you as a speaker will suffer the consequences of that. For example placing a huge block of text onto a slide to the point where it no longer fits onto the slide you’re presenting can be a disastrous thing to do. Some people tend to cram as much onto a slide as they can - it’s generally not a good idea though try and keep it succinct
    16. You are presenting to everyone

    21. Only you know if it has gone wrong
