  • 2. What is Communication? The exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, signals, writing, or behavior. Excluding “written” there are two main types of communication...

  • 6. Verbal Communication * This type of communication uses the spoken word. Pitch, volume, tone, pace and syntax are used to express meaning. For example singing and debating World famous Singer Mary. J. Blidge
  • 7. Definitions for key terms * Pitch → The quality of a sound governed by the rate of vibrations producing it * Volume → The amplitude or loudness of a sound * Tone → A musical or vocal sound with reference to its pitch, quality, and strength * Pace → The speed acceleration and deceleration of speech, use of pauses * Syntax → the way in which linguistic elements (as words) are put together to form constituents (as phrases or clauses)
  • 8. Non-Verbal Communication This Type of communication uses bodily movement and reaction to convey meaning, gestures, facial expressions, body co-ordination are common types. * World famous dancer Michael Jackson

Definitions for key terms * Gestures → a movement of your body (especially of your hands and arms) that shows or emphasizes an idea or a feeling * Facial Expression → Connotation of feelings and idea's through the composition of facial muscles * Body Co-Ordination → the movement of different body muscles to conotate expression
