Your Virtual Personal Assistant
Most one-man bands and small businesses have
one thing in common; they all have bulges in
activity which they usually cope with by working all
hours or by enlisting the help of friends and family.
This is all well and good on the odd occasion but it
risks diverting you from what you do best. It’s also
a problem trying to deal with it by taking on a part-
time or full-time employee. There is nothing worse
than paying for someone to meet a perceived
need and then having them sitting around
twiddling their thumbs for hours on end.
The obvious solution is to outsource tasks as and
when they occur to someone reliable who is going
to charge purely on the basis of the actual work
undertaken. Using a personal assistant involves
you in no extra ongoing overhead commitment. Furthermore, it makes more
economic sense for you to concentrate on what you are good at, hopefully
earning more per hour than what you are paying for whatever work you choose
to outsource.
Of course it helps if the people you outsource tasks to are reasonably intelligent
and capable of translating your brief into action with the minimum of supervision.
Judging by their number of testimonials, it seems that many small businesses are
more than happy to rely on National Virtual Assistant of the Year 2009 award
winner, Essential PA.
What makes Phillippa Goodwin’s operation such an indispensible asset to any
small enterprise is that there is very little in the way of everyday business tasks
that it can’t handle. Competencies include:
• Bookkeeping, invoicing, credit control and management accounts
• HR, IT and Business Systems
• Sales & Marketing inc. Lead generation, mail shots and newsletters.
