  • 30. A short biography
    • Philippe Nault is a self-made man. A French born American, he started painting at age ten, while pursuing classic studies at the nine century old school of Cathedral Notre-Dame, in Paris.
    • Later admitted at the National School of Arts Appliqués, he soon left the academic environment to begin painting full time, learning instead from older artists, studying the history of art, ancient cultures, and mythologies.
    • He soon developed a particular enthusiasm for large-scale projects in architectural and public spaces, a passion that never left him.
    • After Paris, London, and New Orleans, he now lives in Hawaii where he nurtures a personal relationship with the remote nature of the islands, the great live volcano, and contemporary indigenous thought.
    • His work today is mostly about the perception of the world as a landscape of self.
