    • APPLICATION FOR CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT TO CELEBRATE NEWCASTLE NOVOCASTRIAN GEOGRAPHIC, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENTThe purpose.-The main of purpose is to bring the music to people ratherthen the people to music.-to allow Novocastrian to define music and identifythemself .- showcasing Newcastle musician and upcoming musician.- promoting other area of Newcastle that are commonlyused and find toward people
    • bring music to people rather the people to music. This process can be achieved by singing up musician that are willingto performs gigs, at particular place, for a set of people or group ofpeople. And also to allow those that are enable to come to concertto enjoy live performance.Hence in the an article the city council city the parties are one of thefavourite things Novocastrian love to do. (city council)
    • Place of holding performance.-Shopping centre-Universities Of NewcastleWhy? Because the target audience are more likely to be small group of people . Thereason being like Knapp(40;2011) state “ it is easy for people to interact with theartist are the best way to hold parties.”
    • Performing in universityI have choose the university of Newcastle as a place to hold, gigs and live performance. Simply because the university ofNewcastle, not only is a big representation of Newcastleinternational and national gathering. But also it is the bestplace for where people of different age, background canmeet and hang out and share similar experience and tough. As it is also a symbol of education.
    • Performing in shopping MallI belief that performing in shopping mall, could be a goodexperience, simply unlike university or school it target awider range of people ,in term of ages, and wider range ofpeople with different genre of people,It also cover people .By doing so music not only are we able to understand “theway in which social relation act in within theplace”(p678;2005) and also how much music create assense of belonging outside the walls of theatre and musiccentre.( Duffy , 2005)
    • BRING MUSIC TO PEOPLE RATHER THE PEOPLE TO MUSIC.The advantage of hosting gigs .Create a sense of place and gives them to opportunity to interact with one andother and the artist, it is easy to create that sense of togetherness and sharingthe same kind of taste, or sharing difference in term of music and other socialeven. (Knapp, 2011)It allow the artist to connect with the public at a deeper level, get inspirationfrom the audience, by listening their own personal story and understanding ofmusic.
    • Method and strategies1. Live performanceRecruitment of musician and artist that are willing to perform for both informal and formal occasion.• Open application to host performances, for universities and school and they fund raised from performance will be used to fund raise the university and the other will be given to artists that participate.• Musician may have to bring their own personal instrument has we are providing sound system equipment.• And contract set to support health and care centre through music performances
    • Method and strategies2. WorkshopCould be the best way to tutor and educated people about music and finding out personal music taste. This can be done through:• Music trivia: where the audience will listen to a set of music, and ask about the genre of music.• Prizes will be awards at the ends to participant.3. Interview with artist.Musician will get the chance to share they experience in music , with audience and other upcoming musician, which with be helpful for student learning music and other artist to improve their skills, and create a sense of community.
    • Audience targetWe are looking forward to target every generation. The reason being simply because music is consider to be a universallanguage, also because music mean different things to differentpeople, and also to close the gap between generation.Just as” nationalism close the gap between music and culture” ( p178)And also to get a richer understanding of political and aesthetics ofmusic, and the social and emotional significant of music not onlyamong young people but as well as old.(hesmondhalgh)I do belief tat bring music to a smaller group of people. Will “ helpthem cope with , transform, or even resist, the disruptive, harmfulaspects of growing global market and issue” (p127)
    • Music styleStyle of music approach will totally depend of people, genre of music andlocation of performance.and the artist ability to performed. Since we can’t really says that there is aparticular genre of music to Newcastle. However by doing such aperformance, we are looking forward to actually find out and gives newcastlean identity to genre of music. And also explore the genre of music that doexist already in hewcastle.
    • ConclusionNewcastle as a city have a lot to over as a community not only locallybut as well as internationally. Therefore grants an application topromotes upcoming generation of music to Newcastle will be a greatopportunity, for Newcastle to share their culture which each other andthe rest of the world.
