The garden has started producing and we are documenting the harvests. Producing a diversity of vegetables, and most importantly building fertile soil where only rocks and stones existed before.
3. Harvest
This month we have harvested and given the following to the
kitchen staff at the pediatric ward.
Long beans (Karamani)
Flat Beans (Avaraikkai)
Ladies Finger
Tomato
Green Chillies
Groundnuts
Radish
Greens:

Gongura
Mustard leaves
Gourds:
Ash Gourd (white pumpkin)

After a massive day-long clean up of the garden, basketfuls of grass
and weeds were removed from the beds and pathways.
20. We hope that the children are enjoying the
produce from this garden.
We would love some feedback from the
CI kitchen staff who are using this
produce.
We look forward to the opening of the new
kitchen so we can work closely with the
nutritionists and kitchen staff.
