7/18/2009 BP enhances Amsterdam fuel terminal1 July 2009 UK energy company BP has completed a project to expand its fuels terminal in the Amsterdam harbour area in The Netherlands. The €65 million project has taken about two and a half years, of which the actual build was 13 months. The BP Amsterdam Terminal (BAT) now has four additional jetties for barges and one additional jetty for seagoing vessels.

7/18/2009 15 We Amsterdammers Wij Amsterdammers 2004 Binding Communities Mayor Cohen has been lauded for his et alterampartem style of ‘listening to all sides’. He is attributed with a series of actions, policies and plans that have focused on bringing the city’s communities together. These have included initiatives and policies that have been created together with those groups affected thanks to the findings, aims and negotiations that have come from intensive dialogue. One such initiative is 'We Amsterdammers' a year-long campaign created shortly after the November 2nd designed to tackle further isolation and stigmatization. It consists of a series of programmes aimed at creating healthy, solution-based dialogue amongst the city’s various communities.
