1. Petersburgtrip p rivate tours in St
Petersburg
Who we are and what we do.
Hello,
My name is Alisa. I am a licensed private guide in St
Petersburg and owner of Petersburgtrip private tours. We offer
private tours and shore excursions that combine “must see” places
and charming, but still off the beaten track sights that large
groups generally miss. You can reach me by e-mail at
stpetetrip@gmail.com or messaging +79213850250 (I also have WhatsApp) . In 2014 we were
awarded certificate of excellence on Tripadvisor.
In this brochure you will find an overview of our excursions in 2014 that are meant for travelers
who arrive by land or air. If you are on a cruise, check “shore excursions in St Petersburg” section
of our website. If you consider using private guide's services for several days, check “Tour
programs section” - very often it can be cheaper than booking several tours separately.
List of tours that we are offering in 2014 (More coming in
2015)
A more detailed description of each tour is given below on this brochure. Click at the link to get
details.
· Walking city tour of St Petersburg. The best way to get oriented and get practical
recommendations about the city.
· Hermitage museum tour. See the best of more than 3 million exhibits with a private guide.
Art history can be fascinating.
· Catherine palace tour. Hassle-free visit to the most famous suburban palace of Russian
tzars.
· Peterhof tour. See the legendary fountain park and the most beautiful metro stations on the
way there.
· Russian museum tour. Discover the history of Russian art with a specialist.
· Yusupov palace tour. One of the most beautiful and mysterious places of St peters where
the murder of Rasputin took place.
· St Petersburg metro tour. Trace the history of Russia looking at the lavish decorations of
2. the metro stations of our city.
What makes us different from other tour companies?
· We combine “must see” and “off the beaten track” sites. You see much more than the
majority of other big groups do.
· You can choose between public transport and private car in the majority of cases. Public
transport is much cheaper and it gives you more flexibility with time as cars are rented for a
specific period of time. You are paying for a rented car even when you are inside museums.
· Local experience. We are trying to give you a local experience – you can get around by
public transport with us, have a snack where locals go – we'll give you recommendations on
places where we go.
· We are quick to react. As a rule, we answer within 24 hours.
· We are really not afraid to walk an extra mile (in any sense).
St Petersburg walking tour
You will see attractions on both banks of the
river Neva as during shorter tours you usually
cover only one bank. This walking city tour is
very effective for people who stay in St
Petersburg for a short period of time as you’ll
see as much as possible in only about 4 hours!
Duration: approximately 4 hours
Meeting point: your hotel
Availability: daily
Catherine palace tour
A tour of the Catherine palace, a stunning
former summer residence of russian tzars and
home to the famous Amber room, is a “must
do” for the majority of tourists . It's rather hard
to visit it independently, firstly, because it is
situated out of the city and it's difficult for
many foreigners to get there. Second problem
is that the palace is very popular and there is a
3. risk of wasting a lot of time in a line for tickets, especially in summer when most people are
coming to St Petersburg.
Our tour allows you to visit the the Catherine palace hassle-free as we book tickets in
advance. Also you can enhance your experience and include a visit to the less well-known
Alexander palace which was the favorite home of the last Russian tzar Nicholas II and his
family.
Duration: normally a tour of the Catherine palace and park takes about 6-7 hours ( with
transportation time) depending on your pace and weather.
Availability: Daily except Tuesdays. The last Monday and Wednesday of each month are
sanitary days ( consult if you want to visit only one palace).
Peterhof tour
A private tour of Peterhof, the former
summer residence of Russian tzars, is the best
half day trip you can take in summer. The
place is mainly famous for its fountain park,
but you can also see beautiful palaces, cozy
pavilions and magnificent church of Peter and
Paul.
You can choose public transport, hydrofoil or
a private car. I typically recommend public
transport at least one-way as you can see
some of the most beautiful metro stations this
way!
Availability: Fountain park – daily from May to early October. Grand palace – daily except
Monday
Duration: About 6-7 hours (by public transport)
Yusupov palace tour
Yusupov palace is known not only for its lavishly decorated interiors (not a surprise since
Yusupov family was probably richer than Russian tzars) but also for the murder of Rasputin
that took place there. During the tour you will learn about the Yusupov family, marvel at the
intricate beauty of the rooms and listen to the mysterious story of the Rasputin murder.
Availability: daily
St Petersburg metro tour
Metro in St Petersburg is often called “underground
palaces” for common people because of the beauty of
its stations. Also it's like a history book – you can
learn a lot about Russia and the Soviet union
exploring the decorations with a private guide.
4. Availability: daily
Russian museum tour
Russian museum is the right place if you are
interested in Russian art: while the Hermitage
specializes mainly in European art, this museum
has about 400000 items that trace the
development of Russian art from icons to avant-garde
of 20th century.
Russian museum is famous for masterpieces of
such artists as Karl Briullov, Ilya Repin, Ivan
Aivazovsky, Ivan Skishkin, Wassily Kandinsky
and Kazimir Malevich. During the overview
tour of the Russian museum you’ll see the
main masterpieces of different periods of
Russian art.
Tour duration: about 2 hours (time spent in the museum itself).
Availability: daily except Tuesday
