      • BC program developed in 1978 for post-secondary educators to survive and thrive
      • Revised in 1982, 1989, 1993, 2003, 2006
      • Spread to all but one BC post-secondary institute, the three territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland, California, other US states, United Arab Emirates … and continues to go further

      • Is competency-based instruction
      • Utilizes an experiential learning cycle:

      • Introduction

    9. Activities – Days 2 to 4
      • Morning special session (e.g., learning styles…)
      • You will each deliver a ten-minute mini-lesson to the rest, who are “learners”
      • “ Learners” provide constructive written and verbal feedback
      • Video feedback for you to watch in the evening - Bring a USB memory stick
    10. Lesson Cycle - Days 2 to 4
      • Set up – 10 minutes
      • Lesson delivery – 10 minutes
      • Written feedback – 5 to 7 minutes
      • Verbal feedback – 13 to 15 minutes
      • Three lessons allow for enough practice and reflection for you to improve as well as for you to experiment, such as trying one lesson in each of the learning domains of cognitive skills, psychomotor skills, and attitudes.
