  • Around the room there are 6 A3 sheets stuck on the wall. Then when the teacher says move on you will move around the room a sheet at a time.

  • Starter
    • On each sheet is a factor that influences participation in physical activity . When your teacher says ‘GO’ you will walk to a sheet of paper and write an example of that factor.

    • Describe the 6 different influences on sports participation.
    • Give an example of each influence
    • Complete Exam style questions on the influences on sports participation.
  • Peer Marking of ELT
    • Read your reasons ‘why people should take part in physical activity’ to the person sat next to you. Your partner must then rate you out of ‘5’ based on how many key words you get in to your speech.

    • These can effect participation depending on the event.
    • E.g. someone who suffers from asthma may not be able to take part in events that involve a lot of running although swimming may be more suited.

    • You have 1 minute to think with the person next to you of the MOST EXPENSIVE sport to play in terms of equipment and then the CHEAPEST sport to participate in.

  • Opportunities to stay in Sport Officiate: Umpiring and Officiating allows athletes to stay within sport beyond there playing years. Volunteer: Junior teams rely on volunteer managers and trainers which allows performers who love the sport to stay involved in the game. Leadership: Coaching badges and awards allow people to lead sessions and pass on knowledge and practices.
