Highlights from the report include: – Almost as many Americans (236.5 million) watched TV on their phones during the second quarter of 2012, as watched it on a conventional TV set (283.3 million), albeit for much shorter durations. – Mobile subscribers watching video on their phones -- a smaller sub-segment of about 37 million Americans -- spend an average of five hours and 20 minutes watching TV on their phones each month, an increase of 31 minutes over the second quarter of 2011. According to a new study from Deloitte 68% of all smartphone owners expect to use them to shop this holiday. And 48% say social media will figure into their shopping plans, at least at some level. The study also reports: – 62% of people intent to use their smartphone to get store locations, 58% to comparison shop and 50% to get product information. – 45% say they plan to do some shopping online. But an even bigger percentage -- 48% -- say they intend to use social networks to shop, either by looking for discounts (54%), scouting for gift ideas (53%) or reading reviews via social networks (47%). 2

CMO is backing a mobile app called GoSpotCheck, which allows just about anyone to monitor what happens in stores. – GoSpotCheck is an iPhone and Android Application that helps businesses to collect real time information from the field in an unique way, while rewarding the participants – Real Time Crowdsourcing. – This is how it works: the user downloads the app, logs in and shares its location on a pop up map that shows nearby missions. These missions are based on taking pictures of businesses, and providing feedback. As a reward, businesses give to the participants/consumers cash prizes. 3
