  • 3. Big X demanded the tunnels be dug deep because if they were to shallow, the Germans would be able to hear the activities below.
    When the guards found these tunnels, they destroyed them

  • 5. Peter Bergsland, Jens Mueller, and Bram van ser Stok were the three men who had escaped. Big X and forty-nine others where shot (Hitler’s order) their bodies cremated to hide the murders.

  • 6. The snow would hold back their escape by freezing the ground, delaying their escape. If it were to delayed too much they would need to forge new documents with the correct date on them.

    The British sent out an investigation team to Germany. These men tracked down the people who followed Hitler’s order. Twenty one of these men were hung for murder, seventeen received prison terms.
