If Jesus did not come to abolish the law, does that mean all the Old Testament laws still apply to us today?
In the Old Testament, there were three categories of law:(1) The ceremonial law related specifically to Israel's worship (see Lev_1:2-3, for example). While we are no longer bound by ceremonial law, the principles behind them—to worship and love a holy God—still apply. Jesus was often accused by the Pharisees of violating ceremonial law.
(2) The civil law applied to daily living in Israel (see Deu_24:10-11, for example). Jesus said: Anyone who breaks one of the minor commands and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.James said: Anyone who keeps the whole law, minus one, is guilty as a lawbreaker. (He uses adultery and murder as his examples)Paul said: The Law is holy and it points out how sinful I am. (He uses covetousness and respect of parents as his examples)It appears that both Jesus and the NT writers intended Christians to live by the OT Moral Code.

The one that concerned you least is the one we are most likely to commit:6.Mindless mention of His name in church (e.g. singing about Him while thinking about something else) This goes to show that we all succumb to the human temptation of thinking our own sins are less serious than the sins of others.“At least, I don’t curse or claim God has given me some special directive. So what if I utter His name without thinking about what His name is all about!”

1. Remembrance - It is a day for remembering what God has done for you. This was clearly the most important thing in your minds.2. Even those of you who couldn’t decide which was most important agreed that Revelation and Remembrance were very important3. Rest was clearly the least important aspect of the Sabbath/Rest command to you.This makes me wonder: If rest is the least important aspect, why is it that so many people use rest and recreation as their excuse for missing assemblies. “Sunday is my only day to … (do chores around the house, go to the river, go fishing, watch football, etc.)

56.8% considered misusing God’s name in ordinary conversation more serious than perjury.43.2% considered lying in court more serious than misuse of God’s name.Question to ponder: Which is more likely to result in an injustice to one of our fellow-creatures who, like us, bears God’s image?A second question: The oath in court promises “to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God.” When you lie after taking such an oath, haven’t you misused God’s name?
