    2. What is Wisdom?
      • Wisdom is one of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.
      • We receive these gifts at baptism and confirmation to live according to God’s ways.
    3. What is the definition of Wisdom?
      • A. The ability to appreciate and recognize the truth.
      • B. The ability to choose the best action despite the circumstances.
      • C. The ability to act with good sense and virtue.
    4. What virtues are associated with Wisdom?
      • There are two virtues or inner strengths associated with wisdom:
      • A. Prudence
      • B. Right judgment
    5. What is Prudence?
      • A. Prudence is the ability to be cautious in making decisions.
      • B. Prudence help us weigh the consequences of an action or decision before they happen.
      • A prudent person for example is not driven by compulsion or hasty decisions.
    6. What is right judgment?
      • Right judgment is the ability to make good decisions and choices despite difficult or challenging circumstances.
    7. What is the Christian belief about wisdom?
      • A. Christians believe that all true wisdom comes from God.
      • B. Only God through the Holy Spirit can give true wisdom.
      • C. Wisdom is a gift that must be used for our own good and the good of others.
      • D. Because of free will and lack of faith sometimes people choose never to be empowered by the use of this gift of the Holy Spirit.
      • E. Jesus is the wisdom of God.
    8. What is the difference between human wisdom and divine wisdom?
      • Human wisdom is limited.
      • Divine wisdom is unlimited.
      • Human wisdom has an end.
      • Divine wisdom is eternal.
      • Human wisdom seeks its own good.
      • Divine wisdom seeks the good of all.
      • Human wisdom is learned.
      • Divine wisdom is a gift for those who have faith.
    9. What is the difference between moral and amoral decisions?
      • A. moral decisions have to do with right or wrong.
      • B. amoral decisions have nothing to do with right or wrong.
      • C. Amoral decisions are neutral.
    10. What are the characteristics of wise people?
      • A. They listen to the voice of God in their hearts and to the insights God places in their minds, and consciences
      • B. They are responsible with their lives and actions.
      • C. They appreciate good advise and follow good examples.
      • D. They are good role models.
      • E. They rely on God’s strength and guidance
    11. What are the consequences of neglecting this gift of wisdom?
      • A. Serious mistakes and regrets.
      • B. The inability to get along with others.
      • C. Rush decisions that have negative results.
      • D. Loosing control of one’s life.
      • E. Loosing respect for oneself and others
      • F. A life of crime, abuse and addictions
      • G. An unhappy and frustrated life.
    12. How do we become wise?
      • A. First, we need to develop the courage to choose what is right. To do this we must open our hearts and minds to the Holy Spirit.
      • B. Second, we need to develop the courage to listen to what is right.
      • Example our consciences
      • C. Third, we need to develop the courage to do and desire what is right.
      • D. Fourth, we need to surrender to the Holy Spirit. Let the Spirit of God guide us through life.
    13. What are the other gifts of the Holy Spirit?
      • Besides wisdom the Holy Spirit gives us the following gifts:
      • A. wisdom
      • B. knowledge
      • C. understanding
      • D. right judgment
      • E. courage
      • F. reverence
      • G. wonder.
    14. Prayer to the Holy Spirit
      • Holy Spirit, my light, my life, my love, my strength,
      • Be with me now, and always: in all my doubts, anxieties and trials, come, Holy Spirit; in hours on loneliness, weariness and grief, come, Holy Spirit; in failure, in loss and in disappointment , come, Holy Spirit; When others fail me, when I fail myself, come, Holy Spirit; when I am ill, unable to work, depressed, come, Holy Spirit; now, and forever, and in all things, come, Holy Spirit.
