  1. 1. Dr. Danielle Sheypuk Licensed Psychologist ● Experienced Media Commentator ● Ms. Wheelchair New York 2012 “Dating, relationships, and sexuality are fundamental to our health and happiness as human beings. Evidenced in the multitude of television shows and movies, pop culture tells us that it is a universal struggle of significant magnitude. But grappling with ‘finding the one’ and feeling fulfilled sexually is more than just the plot of a hit television show, it is essential to our emotional and physical well-being.” - Dr. Danielle Sheypuk Danielle’s Bio At-a-Glance At-  New York Resident Since 2000  Licensed Psychologist Specializing in Dating, Relationships, and Sexuality among the Physically Disabled Community  Brings a Unique Personal Perspective, Based on Her Own Experience and Advocacy as a Young NYC Professional Living with a Physical Disability  Expert Commentator on a Wide Range of Topics in Human Psychology, General and Specific  Featured on Television, Radio, Newspapers, Online MediaDanielle is employed full-time at  Selected Ms. Wheelchair New York in May 2012the Bensonhurst Outpatient Clinicof South Beach Psychiatric Center,  Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (2009), The New School for Socialwhich is part of the New York State Research, New York, NYOffice of Mental Health  B.S. in Clinical Psychology (2000), Marywood University, Scranton, PA
  2. 2. “While there have been many campaigns designed to improve the livesof people with physical disabilities, very little attention had been paidto improving their romantic relationships.“As a commentator for the news media, I will advocate for the recognitionand improvement of this important facet of life.” “Like those arriving at Ellis Island, I came to Manhattan hoping for a land of opportunity and finding a freedom from the constraints of attempting to date with a physical disability. Since my arrival in New York City more than 11 years ago, I have been fortunate enough to put myself out there on the dating scene. My experience and struggles with dating and relationships has taught me that this is a wide- spread problem, not one relegated to small towns like Scranton, and this problem has become my passion. My personal struggles are supported by the literature on the topic, and my campaign will focus on several key dimensions that are of critical importance.” - Dr. Danielle Sheypuk Dr. Danielle Sheypuk is available for media interviews as an expert in the clinical psychology of dating, relationships and sexuality.
