  • 7. 2.1(march 1999) included apt and had 2250 packages

  • 11. Desktop Environments like KDE or GNOME or XFCE

  • 13. Debian project gets them together Ex: Kernel code: <ul><li>kernel code is brought from kernel.org
  • 14. A DD gets the code and compiles for his architecture
  • 15. Submits it for review
  • 16. If there are no bugs it enters unstable
  • 17. Unstable is used by Ubuntu and Debian testing
  • 18. Debian testing->Stable after extensive testing </li></ul>
  • 19. Ubuntu ! <ul><li>90 % from Debian unstable and 10 % of its own packages
  • 20. The debian unstable packages are modified/patched to suit its tool chain versions
  • 21. Ubuntu helps Debian testing with a huge no of use case testing on Desktop </li></ul>

  • 24. Debian on local language: help achieve 100 % localised desktop
