  • Computers aren’t environmentally friendly There are all sorts of nasties involved in the manufacture Logistic costs. The electronic equivalent of the 4,000 mile Caesar salad Power use means there is a big carbon footprint
  • Commuting by bike is good, but do we need to be commuting at all? Can we carry out much of our work at home? Use VoIP and meeting software to reduce long distance travel
  • We’ve promised this for years. the arrival of cheap notebooks, smartphones, iPads and broadband means we are finally reducing paperwork
  • Cloud computing has changed the way big and small companies work. What was awkward and messy in remote working is now easy Cloud saves labour, time, resources and power Older computers can still run if they have a decent web browser. Extends the life of older tech.
  • Portable computers are far more energy efficient than their desktop cousins
  • Throwing old monitors out is a horrible thing for the environment
