This document describes Chisimba, a mobile social networking platform that allows for quick deployment of mobile communities with rich user experiences despite limitations of smartphones and slow data rates. It works by offloading processing to server-side services like YQL and using XMPP to connect users. This enables features like social networking, group chat, media sharing, geolocation, and e-commerce through a simple text interface. Revenue can be generated through fees from these services and transactions.
