    • Pros
    • Ability to participating in conversations as a person
    • Sharing the ‘real’ University story
    • Getting to know constituents as people rather than as groups
    • Increase your ‘messages’ creditability
    • Encourage positive attitude toward you and your University
    • Cons
    • Additional communications workload (questions to answer).
    • Opens you up to social criticism (you already are but now you see it)
    • Learning curve for using the tools (you learned email, next one)
  • 16. No Faking Allowed! Social media has exploded into our society and I do not see it going away anytime soon. If people of my generation fail to recognize its relevance and importance, they will quickly lose effectiveness. In sports and entertainment arena, more and more fans want to hear directly from the source. If they do not get what, they want they will quickly look elsewhere for direct information. Personally, I tweet on an irregular basis, but feel it is extremely important to do my own tweeting. It seems disingenuous to do otherwise.
