Cloud services such as Office 365 enables small businesses to take advantage of these enterprise-class services at an affordable subscription model.Where SBS Essentials provides further value is amalgamating these management of these cloud services, and integrating them within the management environment. What this means is that each cloud service that has support for SBS Essentials (through a Cloud Integration Module), can extend the user, computer, server, storage and other management features of SBS Essentials itself. For example a cloud based CRM tool may extend the user creation wizard in SBS Essentials to capture details it requires for user creation in the actual cloud services. An online cloud backup integration may extend the storage management to enable the admin to simply setup backup on a folder to replicate to the cloud. For Office 365, user information such as email address and SharePoint quota size may be capture within the user wizard. All this information is then propagated to the cloud services, and vice versa. What this enables is a seamless experience for the office admin to administer all aspects of their environment in one place. When you create a user in Essentials, it will create this user in the various cloud services, and propagate the captured custom information.
