8.2.11 do web based technologies enhance professional practice group1 our views

 1. 1. Do Web based technologies enhance professional practice?
In favour of the use of Web based technologies:
Point 1 instant access to Facebook data base with over 500 million users. Evidence to support this statement. There are many casting opportunities available on Facebook there are groups you can join with information on auditions and casting breakdowns, such as Debbie O’Brian who casts many Uk tours and Westend productions has a page. They have made this easily accessible to up and coming professionals you can gather information and instant updates at the click of a button! From my own experience I can say this tool has only had a positive effect on enhancing my professional practice.
2. 2. How You Tube Enhances professional practice.
You tube allows you to instantly share and access video footage.
By having a showreel on you tube you can instantly sell yourself as a performer to casting agents.
You can also view potential employers work to give you an insight to what you are auditioning for.
Research is also widely available on you tube for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPnH0lTICIs
3. 3. Twitter
Twitter is one the most popular web sites in the world along side Facebook, Utube, My space ect…
It allows you to follow celebritys, friends, colleges and gives you up dates of their lives the news and gossip.
You can post videos and images of your self allowing you to get recognition in the media and business world.
The negative thing about the site is not all views my come out in a positive way.
You can be criticised on having different views or opinions.
4. 4. Space for Thought
2 Million People
Government Source
Bloggers
Good or Bad
5. 5. MySpace.com
My space gives the unsigned artists the change to upload there music and videos
My space is mainly for musicians it gives them the chance to browse at other artists pages
Not all talent scout look on My Space accounts
Having a My Space account my restrict the time spent going to auditions, reason being upload videos and music on your page might just be more easier for you.
6. 6. Spotlight.com
Spot light is a casting service for professional stage, film ,theatre and tv jobs.
You upload a photo and Cv of yourself on the website.
Agents can find acting jobs for there clients.
You can receive daily updates about auditions to your phone.
