    Notes on slide 1

Transition to the future Age is often overlooked when addressing the subject of employee diversity. Yet, the viewpoints and perceptions of different age groups can present significant barriers in a workforce where age differences can span 40 years or more. For example, preconceived biases about the willingness of older workers to learn and embrace new technologies can limit their opportunities, discouraging mature workers from refreshing their skills. At the same time, younger workers may be perceived as not willing to “pay their dues” before advancing in the company. This can dampen the enthusiasm of new employees and result in low morale and early attrition.

Introduction to Weconomics - Presentation Transcript

    1. Advisor/Intermediary User/Buyer Supplier Network supplier "The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking." (Albert Einstein)
    2. Companies………why??  Do we work in companies?  Are we trapped in traffic jam at 8.30 in the morning?  Do companies exist, who made them and why?  Is the goal of a compay continuity : while the world changes quickly?  Do we identify our selves with the company we work for?
    3. What is Weconomics ? Weconomics is a new organization model for the community economy. If we work smarter together and deploy people smarter we can finally increase the productivity of information workers. Weconomics is based on:  profile -> connect -> collaborate networks (like LinkedIn),  Wikinomics principles (mass collaboration, sharing, open innovation)  usage of community software (no boundary, open source etc) and  what binds us instead of what differs us. But most of all it expects different thinking, that’s the real challenge.......
    4. Why? In our present (global, knowledge & service based, western) economy it is necessary to increase productivity of information workers because: – In 2040: 10% less workforce in NL (relatively more elderly people). – Competition from BRIC countries. – In 2030: 8-9 billion people on earth: • they all connect via LinkeIn, Facebook etc. -> flat & complex world • they all want a house, 2 cars, 3 tv’s etc. -> shortage on energy etc. – We will face world problems like food, water, energy shortage. We need smart solutions. We have to increase the productivity of innovation workers.
    5. More and more we work in communities
    6. Examples of Weconomics partners
    7. Information workers developments Learning is working, working is learning Work situation changes:  structural shortage on labour market  economy service / knowledge based  workplace independence empowered by technology  The world is flat: global competition forces new rules  Internet generation on labour market
    8. HR eye opener  6 on 7 people think they don’t have meaningful job (NL)  more contractors 2003: 54.000 starters, 2007: 100.000 (NL)  demographic developments : 2040, 1 million less workers (NL)  structural shortage of employees in developed countries  common employment contract disappear  Life Long Learning, e-Portfolio, branding: the new instruments

    11. It’s a ‘perfect wave’ for innovation Developments:  Demographic  Technologic  Economic  Ecologic  Organizational Conclusion: old models and instruments don’t work anymore  Change your way of thinking
    12. 10 core principles of Weconomics: 1. Profile --> connect --> collaborate network (see LinkedIn) 2. Wikinomics principles (see Wikipedia) and holistic 3. User first then other stakeholders (change value chain: user is the boss) 4. Trusted, semantic & secured information to/from primary processes (no Google) 5. Individual & community driven, organization supported (no LinkedIn) 6. Connected to best practice independent core infrastructure, flexible channels 7. Disconnect logistics and commerce, content and publication 8. Transparency and easy to get (more user pull, less sales push) 9. “What binds us” in stead of “what differs us” (compose instead of oppose) 10.A balanced network of customers, suppliers, network suppliers and a supervisory organization/body
    13. When does it work: 1. Stay with the 10 principles 2. Authentic, flexible, reasonable, honest and clear leadership 3. Defined target and target group 4. There is real trade of products & services 5. Understand the community software in 3 clicks 6. Generate enough volume (scale) 7. Use an index for community contribution & reliability 8. Holistic (old is in new, community is more then sum of its parts)
    14. Vision - > practice It’s important to bring vision/strategy into practice. Weconomics model is derived from Iblc community, a community in the professional training market in the Netherlands. And now new communities like Yiller.com for recruitment en MyLifeLeadership for personal development start and develop with the same community economy model.
    15. Community economy model: what you need? 3 Levels: 1. Intellectual framework: inspiring and valid leader, vision, direction, principles, conditions. 2. Infrastructure: supply and demand collaborate smart together via community software (single sign on), supervisor organization for & stability, network suppliers for IT, communication & shared services. 3. Domain: certain goal and target group: per domain you offer certain 1. Instruments: recruitment and selection, coaching, training, workshop, wiki, advice, interim, assessment etc. 2. Products: instrument connected to a supplier with certain characteristics (expensive, costs etc.)

    19. Ambition Improve productivity of information workers 50 times before 2040.
    20. Vision Company, banks and governments as we know them now will no longer be the center of commerce. We will work more via communities which are more organic and run for an by the people Processes, instruments and IT will be more individual and community driven. The quality of information (trusted, semantic, secured and Just In Time) will be the Unique Selling Proposition in the new IT system arena.  From company IT to community IT
    21. Advise Stop thinking from the organization point of view (walls, FTE’s, organization charts, management development programs, functions, shareholders). Start thinking from the individual, process and community point of view.
    22. Albert Einstein: "The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."
    23. Weconomics Domain  Assessments  Courses, Training & Development  Recruitment  Coaching  Accommodations  Advise hours  Quick Scans  Innovation  Etc.
    24. Weconomics key item: e-Portfolio An e-Portfolio is a structured set of data about learning and (work) experiences (courses, projects, jobs, activities etc.). It’s an electronic tool for professionals to find, bind and excite. The connection between all e-Portfolio files is the new world wide Human Resources Information system (HRIS)
