  1. 1. Adobe Is Enhancing Behance BeginningWith Free Portfolio SitesIn December, Adobe acquired Behance, the online portfolio service/community. So now thatAdobe has Behance in their hands, what are they going to do with it? Adobe has been largelyfocused on cloud services and subscriptions for its software so adding Behance to the mix seemslike a logical step.Recently Adobe outlined their focus for this newest acquisition:The Adobe community will get additional features such as the ability to connect withother members and also job-related networking features. There may even be additionalenhancements to the job list option. While Behance’s community is not ideal; it will allow better community features forAdobe. There will be an addition of social networking features like the ability to getfeedback from members as well as sharing work online by connecting with Adobe’sworkflows. These options should be available around May 2013.Last but not least, Behance is working on additional paid features that will relate more tothe careers and online portfolio sections. With Adobe’s already existing Creative Cloudsection, this makes the perfect addition and opportunity to join Behance and Adobetogether.Creative Cloud users who are paid subscribers are already able to get free access toBehance’sProSites which allows for customized online portfolios with cleaned up URL’s andexcellent UI’s.The Behance platform allows artists to showcase their work in an online portfolio environment. With this platform there is no need for website services. Not to mention it is relatively easy touse. Behance’s 32 employees will work for Adobe but will they will remain in their New Yorkoffices. Behance’s CEO Scott Belsky will now become Adobe’s community vice-president.Behance was founded in 2006 and raised $6.5 million from investors like Union SquareVentures, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos (Bezos Expeditions), Alexis Ohanian, Garrett Camp andothers. It was reported that Adobe purchased Behance for around $150 million.Behance will begin to intertwine itself with Adobe’s Creative Cloud more in the future. It’ssomething that you definitely want to watch.
