About Patriot Solar Group Patriot Solar Group is a spin-off company of Patriot Antenna Systems. Patriot Antenna Systems has been one of the top selling manufacturers of antennas and antenna systems over the past ten years, selling antennas to marquee names such as DirecTV and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Patriot Antenna Systems has produced over two million antennas to date and continues to gain market share in the satellite industry.

The relationship between the two Patriot companies is nearly seamless, in that all manufacturing takes place in the same high tech facility located in Albion, Michigan. This cohabitation of space is not only beneficial for reasons of equipment and machinery but also for the cooperation of creative engineering minds. Patriot Antenna Systems as well as Patriot Solar Group have assembled two of the most advanced engineering teams in their respective industries. Control Systems Patriot Solar Group’s RCI-3000A Auto Locate Controller can be configured to be used anywhere in the world. Supports low voltage, high current DC motors on the azimuth, elevation, and polarization axis.

Tracking Systems Patriot uses SP Unidrives, micro-processor controlled inverter drives as the basis for hi performance poisoning and tracking control of large antenna structures such the 12m DSN prototype delivered to JPL/NASA. Three drives are used, one for elevation and one for each of the two azimuth motors which are driven in a torque bias mode to eliminate drive train backlash. Tracking and positioning accuracies in the order of .003 degrees have been achieved on the 12m antenna system.
