The irish famine

  1. 1.  The Irish famine was also called “the great hunger.” There were many famines in the early half of the 19th century. Peasants were almost dependant on the source of potato.
  2. 2.  Robert peel was the prime minister December 10th 1841 to June 29th 1846. LordJohn Russell was the prime minister from June 30th 1846 to February 21st 1852 Lord John Sir Robert Peel Russell
  3. 3.  Starving people did not get help from the government.
  4. 4.  There were around 1 million deaths due to this famine.
