spills as soon as possible. You can clean the spill with the help of soft cloth or basic
paper towel.
Hot Pots are bad:
Thin strips of granite do not have the capacity to absorb all of the heat from a pan or pot
taken directly off a stove or oven. To protect your surface use a potholder.
Leave Rock Climbing Outside:
Being a natural stone, avoid putting excessive weight onto the edges of granite
countertops. Do not allow kids to sit on them. Being a natural stone, it may have flaws
within. Excessive weight can cause a crack and nobody wants to have cracked granite in
his or her kitchen.

Avoid Harsh Cleaning Products:
Avoid abrasive cleaning products with acid bases. Use mild dish soap if you want to
clean your countertop.
Seal Your Countertops regularly:
Apply sealant if you want your granite to look great for years. Buy the correct sealant
and avoid cheap sealant. A decent solvent-based sealer is not that expensive and can be
applied to granite countertops to help keep them looking new. Keep in mind that sealers
don’t make your countertops impervious to stains. They do buy you some time to clean
up spills. Apply sealant as recommended.
