These are a good reference point for topics, ideas and themes for class instruction. Here you will find background information on our 2y class and the youth program.<br />This includes the Ucan2 program (one day a week). <br />The Ucan2 is a program underpinned by the partnership between three organizations: Foundation House, Adult Migrant Education Service and the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY).<br /><ul><li>Swinburne University of technology</li></ul>http://www.swinburne.edu.au/<br />The Certificate II in Spoken and Written English focuses on general English language development, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills related to a range of contexts at a post-beginner level. There is also a focus on settlement issues.<br /><ul><li>AMES - http://www.ames.net.au/</li></ul>The largest provider of English Language CALD Employment and Settlement services in Australia.<br /><ul><li>Foundation House - http://www.foundationhouse.org.au/home/index.htm</li></ul>The Victorian Foundation for survivors of Torture Inc. <br />Foundation House is a politically independent, non-profit organization. It provides services and support for adults and children form any country who have fled persecution, torture and war-related trauma to find safety in Australia.<br /><ul><li>CMY- The Centre for Multicultural Youth http://www.cmy.net.au/Home
  2. 2. is a community-based organization that advocates for the needs of young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.</li></ul>The ten volunteers who came to our class weekly were great mentors to our computer classes.
