New Prayer Requests: t Pray for Al Anderson who has been very sick with flu-type symptoms in addition to his post-polio condition. t Pray for Judy Timmer’s nephew, Mike, who has acute leukemia and is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant on 2/3 if his next bone marrow biopsy report is good. His last biopsy report in mid-December showed the cancer as being very aggressive again so he is on strong chemo right now. The doctor says he will not make it without the transplant. Continued Prayer Requests: t For continued healing for all who have had recent illnesses, surgeries and medical procedures. t For the homebound: Mary Carmichael, Judy Blauwkamp, Kay Everett, Nelvie VanKampen and Barb Kroll; t For continued healing for Jan VanDyke’s sister and Art Seibert’s sister. t For good health and safety for our expectant church ladies: Kari Reen due in March and Elise VanKampen due in June. t For all marriages in the church - that those that are strained may be restored and that the healthy marriages may grow even stronger. t For our country and that we, as a nation, will turn to Christ for guidance. t For our safety for our military troops all over the world. If you didn’t RSVP, you can still attend! There will be several presenters with information on aging and decision making for the family including Lakeside Vista Independent Living and Assisted Living, Heartland Home Health Care, Alliance Home Health Care Services, Heartland Hospice, Lakeshore Memorial Services and Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Plan to attend and invite others who might benefit from this seminar. For more information, pick up a flyer from the Welcome Center. Refreshments will be served. WEDNESDAY MORNING MEN’S GROUP Join with other men from the church on Wednesdays at 6:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Area. Come when you can...leave when you must. Enjoy devotions, fellowship and a great cup of coffee! LADIES EVENING BIBLE STUDY The next Ladies Evening Bible Study will be on Thursday, February 6. This is a verse by verse study of the Book of James held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the church. Study questions can be picked up at the Women’s Ministry Counter. No childcare is provided. Newcomers are always welcome! Questions, contact Amy Renberg. CIRCLE OF MOMS Join moms of all ages on Friday, February 7, from 9:15-11:00 a.m. around the fireplace at church for “Book Club!” The group will be discussing Jen Hatmaker’s book “Interrupted.” Child care will be provided. 3 G’S God’s Gifted Gals will be meeting on Friday, February 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the church. HIGH YOUTH GROUP WEDNESDAY NIGHT This Wednesday - The lesson will be “The Life of Moses - Head for the Hills!” Join us for a great lesson, snacks and games! SR. FEBRUARY 16 All youth are invited to Rest Haven to participate in a service to their residents. We’ll be leaving the church at 2:30 p.m. and returning at 4:30 p.m. MARCH 1 Parkside will hold a contemporary worship service and the L.I.G.H.T.S. Coffee House on March 1, geared mostly for Sr. High and college-aged young adults. SUPER BOWL XLVIII ALL CHURCH FAMILY OUTREACH & POTLUCK DINNER NEXT SUNDAY AT 6:00 PM. Watch the big game plus there will be video games, prizes and a special half time concert with “Beacon,” a local Christian musician. Bring the whole family! Please sign up at the youth counter to attend and to bring an item for the potluck. It’s going to be a great time! MISSION OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIOR HIGH & COLLEGE STUDENTS Volunteer to help rebuild 21 Grace churches in the Philippines damaged by Typhoon Haiyan while also reaching out to their communities in the name of Christ! The group meets downtown Holland in front of the Knickerbocker Theater on 8th Street and they run/walk downtown on the snow-melt system on 8th Street and enjoy some warmth at JP’s coffee after the event. Judy will be on vacation for the month of March and we are looking for possibly 10 people willing to work 3 hours a day one day a week for 4 weeks...like 9:00-noon or 1:00-4:00 or any hours or days that you can fill in. It would consist mainly of answering the phone and greeting people who come in the front door and maybe light office work depending on your computer skills. TIME IS RUNNING OUT…..The new church directory is coming soon so if you want a new picture, Jane Tiffany is taking pictures in the east room off the sanctuary today. If you are new to the church and haven’t had your family picture taken yet but would like to be included in the new directory, please have your picture taken today and provide directory information (family names, address and phone number) or contact Judy at 399-4410 by Wednesday.
