Is Enough!

Introduction
 1 is not enough in many things of life!
 1 parent is not enough! – Eph. 6:2
 Father and Mother are needed! – Gen. 1:26-28
 Male + Female = Offspring “…after his kind…”
 Gen. 1:11,12, 21, 24, 25
 The natural law of Procreation
 1 vehicle may not be enough!
 Some need 2 or more!
 1 shoe is not enough!
 Need 2 – one for each foot!
 1 foot, leg, eye, ear, arm, hand is not enough!
 Need both! – 1 Cor. 12:14-26
 But, God says that 1 is enough in some cases!

Ephesians 4:1-6
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you
that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are
called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering,
forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are
called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and
through all, and in you all.

Body is Enough!
 “There is one body…”
 The Body is the Church and the Church is the
Body!
 Eph. 1:22-23; 5:22-23; Col. 1:18, 24
 Christ built the Church!
 He owns it!
 He governs it!
 He purchased it!
 It is His Kingdom!
 Matt. 16:13-19; Acts 20:28; Jn. 18:36
 There is no need for bodies of men!

Spirit is Enough!
 “…and one Spirit…”
 Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to His Apostles!
 Jn. 14:26; 15:26; 16:7, 13
 Lk. 24:46-49; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4;
 1 Cor. 2:6-13; Gal. 1:10-12; Eph. 3:3-5; 2 Pet.
1:19-21
 Heb. 1:1-2
 The revelation of the Spirit is sufficient:
 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:3
 There is NO other spirit and NO need for any
other spirit!

Hope is Enough! “…even as ye are called in one hope of your
calling…”
 Man has many hopes!
 1000 Year reign of Christ on earth!
 Hope of a rapture!
 Hope of an experience!
 Hope of a special message!
 Hope of salvation by “faith only!”
 Hope of physical health and wealth!
 The “one hope” is the Hope of Heaven with Christ!
 1 Pet.1:4; Col. 1:5; 2 Tim. 4:8; Rom. 8:24, 25
 Eph. 1:3; Jas. 2:24
 There is NO other hope!

Lord is Enough!
 “there is…one Lord…”
 Jesus Christ is Lord!
 David called Him Lord!
 Matt. 22:42-46
 Peter called him “…both Lord and Christ.”
 Acts 2:36
 Paul called Him “…King of Kings and Lord of
Lords.”
 1 Tim. 6:15; cf. Rev. 17:14; 19:16
 Must be obedient to Him!
 Lk. 6:46; Matt.7:21-23; Heb. 5:8-9; Jn. 12:48
 He has ALL authority! – Matt. 28:18; 11:27;
Lk. 1:32-33
 There is NO other lord!

Faith is Enough!
 “there is…one faith…”
 This means NO OTHER faiths! ONLY ONE!
 It can and must be preached!
 Gal. 1:23; Mk. 16:15
 It can and must be obeyed!
 Acts 6:7; 2 Thess. 1:6-10; Rom. 6:17-18
 It can and must be “contended for”!
 Jude 3; Phil. 1:27
 The “one faith” is the only faith that saves!
 Rom. 1:17-18; 3:19-22; Gal. 1:6-7; 3:26
 NO OTHER “faith” that will save sinners!

Baptism is Enough!
 “there is…one baptism…”
 But, there are 7 baptisms in the N.T.
 Baptism of John – Matt. 3:1-6,13; 21:25
 Baptism of fire – Matt. 3:7-12
 Baptism of the Holy Spirit – Acts 2:1-4; Jn.
3:34
 Baptism of Moses – 1 Cor. 10:1-4
 Baptism of the dead – 1 Cor. 15:12, 13
 Baptism of suffering – Matt. 20:22-23
 Baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus – Acts
19:5
 Which ONE is the ONE?
 Two is ONE too many!
 None is ONE too few!
 ONE is just right! WHICH ONE???

Baptism is Enough!
 The “one baptism” is the ONE…
 For all people – Matt. 28:19
 That follows faith in Christ – Mk. 16:15-16
 That saves the lost – 1 Pet. 3:21; Acts 2:38
 That is in the name of the Lord Jesus – Acts
10:48
 We contact the blood of Christ - Rom. 6:3-4
 By which we put on Christ – Gal. 3:27
 In which we are buried with Christ – Col 2:12
 That continues until Christ’s return – Mt. 28:19-
20
 Water Baptism is the ONE! – Acts 10:47-48

God is Enough!
 “there is…one God and father of all…”
 This means NO OTHER gods! ONE & ONLY
ONE!
 1 Cor. 8:4-7; Acts 17:16-29
 God (our Father) is in Heaven!
 Matt. 6:9
 He must be worshiped “in spirit and in truth.”
 Jn. 4:23-24
 The command to “have no other gods before
me” is still valid!
 Ex. 20:3; Jer. 25:6; 35:15; Rom. 1:19-25
 NO OTHER “god” is the “true and living God”!
 Mohammad, Allah, Buddha; all “others” are
DEAD!
