TransformationWe use the ‘U-process’ as the core approach to leadership transformation. The U-process is a methodology to create fundamentally new realities through shifts in mindsets and tapping into our sources of creativity. Scharmer, Senge, Jaworski and their colleagues have done a lot of research into this archetypal process of innovation and transformation. In short the U-Process provides us with an alternative to repeating patterns of the past in three crucial steps: Almost obsessively observe the current situation from new perspectives until we become one with itAccess our source of Deeper Knowing and surface that knowingAct swiftly from that knowing, staying in touch with its source. Research has shown that almost all breakthrough innovations from the 15’th century until now adhered to this process. See “Presence” by Senge
Sharing. In addition to spontaneous sharing we will have a few councils where we will share in the group with the talking stick. These sharings are completely voluntarily and one should not feel obliged to speak for the sake of contributing to the group but rather share what one feels one really wants to share. We will stimulate sincerity by “Speaking from” rather than “talking about”. We agree upon secrecy. We will not share anything that we have heard outside our trail group.In Africa the trail is preceded by an evening of life-story dialogue around a fire in which the whole group of 5-7 participants, 2 guides and the trail-facilitator will take part. During the 6 day trail by foot there will be many moments of silence to foster encounters with self and nature. Solitary night-watches, an unstructured program, complete absence of signs of civilization, sleeping under the sky and the presence of wild-life all facilitate a deep immersion in nature. In stead of looking at nature, we become part of it. Through this shifts in perspective occur so that we get a sense of interconnectedness. Also, through resonance with nature we gain access to those parts of our consciousness that generate our purpose in life.
