INSPIRATION


kickz.com was founded by a Basketball aﬁcionado in 1993. After
expanding his reach, commercializing different brands, the company
introduced its own brand k1x and sponsors NBA Player Ron Artest.


The guys at sustenta.com have converted their passion (save
the planet), into a proﬁtable and meaningful business model!


My friend Hector Flores and a team of friends have used their passion for
theatre and music to created an amazing musical experience 100% Tapatio!


A 21 year old student from the ITESM Campus Monterrey, has turned his passion
for robotics, entrepreneurship and education into a $1.7 mio pesos business.


Lin-Manuel Miranda was inspired by his Puerto Rican background and laid the foundations
for a mayor successful broadway musical “In the Heights” that won 4 Tony Awards in 2008.


The creators of “Monte Coxalá” have converted a normal mountain that is next
to the Lake Chapala, into a pre-hispanic paradise at just 40 min. from GDL.


And two years of watching fascinating TEDTalks exposed me to a broad range of
inspiring people who all found their passion in what they were doing.


In one of the videos, Richard St. John shared the results of his research where he
interviewed successful people. “And the ﬁrst thing was … PASSION”


I ASKED MYSELF...


WHAT´S MY PASSION?

But what kind of Business Models
do I want to design?


I wasn´t really sure...


Until a few weeks ago...


Alan

...after a family reunion, Alan (a passionate music student at Fermatta)
explained to me that his parents are putting pressure on him to
engage in a profession that will earn him a living…


He considered opening a
restaurant business...


Make enough money...


And then, when he has saved enough...


...open a Recording Studio.


Basically he is saying that he wants to do THIS in order to comply
with the expectations of his family and friends (make money in the
short term) until he has made enough money to pursue his dream.


For me this didn´t make any sense!


Immediately, I proposed to him that we can
explore the world of music and search for
attractive niche segments where he could find
fulfillment and financial independence...


Anyhow, the conversation reminded me of
several friends who are in a similar situation.

Lupita has a passion for theatre, musicals, and Walt Disney movies. Last year she quit her
well paid job at Cemex in order to explore again her artistic routes, baught a bunch of
books, and enrolled in classes in NYC with Tom Toddoroff. Today she is being part of the
cast of Sessions, a Broadway Musical that is currently being directed by Mauricio Cedeño.

John

John believes that technology, creativity and collective thinking can change the
world. That´s why he is in the process of founding Gawana.com.

Carlos, a New Business Development Manager in the Digital Printing industry, who is
exploring the Mexican art world in order to help artists in the process of spreading their
masterpieces with international art lovers all around the world.


So I thought...
what the world needs now...
