    • The show was a bona fide pop spectacle, with lots of costume changes, dance interludes (to keep the show moving during the costume changes), psychedelic video effects, and confetti (during "Crazy In Love"). Visually, many of the numbers had futuristic themes. – The Star Ledger

    • Beyonce was able to create a mood of down-to-earth simplicity on empowerment anthems such as "Irreplaceable" (sung on the mini-stage, to an unplugged arrangement) and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)." And for all the over-the-top romanticism of "Ave Maria," for instance, the next number, "Broken-Hearted Girl," had plenty of blues grit. – The Star Ledger
