  • Hi everybody and welcome to today’s Simple Development Systems webinar: Monthly Giving? You’d be crazy not to start. I’ve talked a lot about monthly giving, both on my blog and in my enews. Yet I still come across a lot of resistance. Hopefully today we’ll break through some of your misgivings
  • I’ve been kind of remiss, I think, in letting you know how to participate in our webinars, so I wanted to take a minute to point out your control panel on your right. Anytime you have a question, feel free to type it into the control panel under “questions” or ...
  • If you just have a comment, feel free to chat in the chat box. Before we go on, I wanted to run a quick poll and ask, how many of you currently have a monthly giving program?
  • So, why am I absolutely SOLD on monthly giving?
  • You do the math. It’s fairly easy to convert a donor who is currently giving you $50, $100, $250 a year - and then, once they’re signed up, it only follows that the next step is to gently upgrade them by $2 to $5 a month the following year.
  • So what do you need to have in place to start?
  • You see how donor-centric this piece is. It speaks to the needs of the organization, but also speaks to what your gift will enable.
  • You see how they’ve tied a specific monthly gift to an outcome?
  • Here’s another great example. Note how they specify that “only 41%” of their revenue is gained through ticket sales, making a strong case for monthly giving.
  • It doesn’t make much sense for a small organization to institute monthly giving without the ability to process gifts quickly and easily. Paypal can be set up to process monthly gifts.
  • Clearly we’re looking for our most loyal donors. Those people who have given us whatever amount of money every year consecutively.
