  • T he population of Turkey's industrial capital Istanbul exceeded 1 7 million.
  • A WONDERFUL CITY ... The historic city of Istanbul is situated on a peninsula flanked on three sides by the Sea of Marmara, the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. It has been the capital of three great empires, the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. 
  • A bosphorus scene from Ortaköy . Ring roads cross the Bosphorus over two suspension bridges to connect the two continents.
