  • 1. The BDSM As A Lifestyle In Reality
  • 2.
    • Part of the BDSM belief system is making choices for yourself.
    • 3. The belief system also includes aspects of respect, honor, and accountability.
    • 4. You are looking at everything objectively, and you have to respect that others have not done the same.
    • 5. Part of BDSM is to understand and respect that other people see it differently then you do.
    • 6. You must take accountability for your actions.
  • 7.
    • Look at everything you do, how you feel, and ask yourself why you feel that way.
    • 8. Your Master/Mistress is a guide.
    • 9. The relationship between a Dom and their submissive must be based on trust, honor, accountability, and respect. Without these, you don't gain all that you can from the relationship.
    • 10. Being submissive to someone is not wrong. You are trusting your life with someone else, and letting them teach and guide you.
  • 11.
    • I am a product of my socialization. Of course, we all are.
    • 12. The first thing I consciously brought to the forefront of my mind was the fact that I was not without prejudice.
    • 13. It is those thoughts that are the inspiration for the research at all!
    • 14. A good researcher will bring that fact to the forefront of the mind and keep that concept in mind throughout the research.
  • 15.
    • By that conscious process of reminding ourselves to put our prejudices aside as we research our interests - I think that is the closest we humans can come to achieving an unbiased exploration of a question.
    • 16. This issue did not come from within me.
    • 17. I did not say to my girl, "You are my slave," and then set out to prove that true. She proclaimed herself to be my slave.
    • 18. Nor did I say to her, "No, you can not be my slave in reality because that is not possible."I have considered her request to be my slave.
  • 19.
    • As access to the internet grew among the general populace kinksters began to find each other online to discuss, exchange ideas, theorize, meet BDSM friends etc.
    • 20. As access to the internet grew and spread to ever larger numbers of people and as BDSM started expanding itself prejudice and even intense resentment to the idea that slavery could exist in an interpersonal relationship occured.
  • 21.
    • BDSM welcomed into its ranks more and more narrow minded philosophies and philosophers.
    • 22. The flexible BDSM group became populated with inflexible individuals!
